Softball Recap: Grand County Gets the Win

Grand County won the last time they faced North Sevier and things went their way on Thursday too. Grand County came out on top against North Sevier by a score of 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Hope Shumway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on one hit.

At the plate, Bailey Altoff was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten matches. Another player making a difference was Zoey Wilson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Grand County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 7-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Grand County's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for North Sevier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Grand County will square off against Monticello at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Sevier, they will take on Beaver in a tournament on Saturday.
