Soccer Game Preview: Flanagan vs. Stoneman Douglas

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Flanagan duke it out with the Stoneman Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday... Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Stoneman Douglas is hoping to do what Coral Glades couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Flanagan's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Flanagan never let Coral Glades onto the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Falcons have won five games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Coral Glades with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sylar Rogers (3), Alyna McFayden, Kaelyn Budier, and Gabriella Quezada.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stoneman Douglas). They blew past Fort Lauderdale 8-0 on Tuesday. The result kept the Eagles happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Flanagan's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four contests. As for Stoneman Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0-5.
