Basketball Recap: Carlisle County Takes a Loss

Carlisle County lost against Mayfield back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Carlisle County Comets fell 65-56 to the Mayfield Cardinals. The Comets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Carlisle County still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Rickard, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 41.1% of Carlisle County's points, marking the third time in a row Rickard has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kylen King, who scored seven points.

Carlisle County's record is now 11-14. As for Mayfield, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Carlisle County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-51 victory against Livingston Central on the 15th. As for Mayfield, they have also already played their next match, a 76-61 win against Caldwell County on the 17th.
