Flag Football Recap: Oconee County Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Oconee, Oconee County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over the Apalachee Wildcats. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Wildcats are ranked 175th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Apalachee lost, don't look at Kassidi Jordan. Despite the final result, she rushed for 68 yards and one TD. Jordan showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards.

With the victory, Oconee County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for Apalachee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, Oconee County and Apalachee will both be playing Stephens County the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
