Baseball Game Preview: Sumner Stingrays vs. Alonso Ravens

The Sumner Stingrays will be taking part in a tournament against the Alonso Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Sumner saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell just short of Lennard by a score of 5-4. The Stingrays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sebastian Peralta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Alonso's offense. They lost 6-0 to Strawberry Crest on Monday.

Sumner now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Alonso, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sumner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Alonso struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
