Dawson snaps six-game streak of wins at home

Recap: Dawson Eagles vs. Shadow Creek Sharks

After a string of 13 wins, the Dawson Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a rough 70-49 loss at the hands of Shadow Creek. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Dawson has suffered since November 27, 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Dawson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Charles Anderson. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braylon Howard, who scored 11 points.

It was another big night for Michael Collins, who scored 33 points along with six rebounds for Shadow Creek. That makes it four consecutive games in which Collins has scored at least a third of Shadow Creek's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Tate, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Dawson's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7. As for Shadow Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Dawson will head out on the road to square off against Alief Elsik at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alief Elsik will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 501st, while Dawson is ranked 55th). As for Shadow Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Alief Taylor at 7:00 p.m. Alief Taylor is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
