Baseball Game Preview: Woodbine Tigers vs. South Central Calhoun Titans

The Woodbine Tigers will head out to square off against the South Central Calhoun Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Woodbine's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so South Central Calhoun's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Woodbine will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Ar-We-Va on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 11-8. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, South Central Calhoun brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Everything went their way against East Sac County on Thursday as they made off with a 13-6 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Titans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Woodbine's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for South Central Calhoun, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Everything went Woodbine's way against South Central Calhoun in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, as Woodbine made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
