Basketball Game Preview: Rolesville Rams vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs

Rolesville is 0-10 against Southeast Raleigh since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Rolesville Rams will square off against the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Rolesville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They really took it to Lumberton for the full four quarters, racking up an 87-52 win. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Pirates are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Southeast Raleigh's strategy against Pine Forest on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Southeast Raleigh blew Pine Forest out of the water with a 63-21 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Southeast Raleigh's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points over those games. As for Rolesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Rolesville was taken down by Southeast Raleigh 66-35 when the teams last played back in February of 2018. Can Rolesville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
