Recap: Chandler Wolves vs. Highlands Ranch Falcons
If the Chandler Wolves were riding high off their 61-38 takedown of the Tolleson Wolverines on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Chandler took a serious blow against Highlands Ranch on Monday, falling 63-36. Chandler lost against Highlands Ranch in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 80-61 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Chandler saw an underclassman step up: Jesminda Garcia scored eight points. Averi Mehlberg was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Chandler has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Highlands Ranch, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Chandler will be home for the holidays to greet Nazareth at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Nazareth is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.5 points per game. Highlands Ranch is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Paramount at 1:30 p.m. on December 19th. Paramount knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Highlands Ranch likes a good challenge.
