The home team had won the previous three meetings between Southside Christian and Greenville Christian Academy, and Greenville Christian Academy kept the tradition alive. The Warriors came up short against the Knights on Friday, falling 3-0. The Warriors have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Southside Christian was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Greenville Christian Academy work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 27-25, 25-23.

Ella Malpass paced Southside Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Malpass got some help from Kennedy Sharp and her two assists. Finally, Malpass was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.

Southside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Southside Christian will take on Community Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Hilltop Christian on the 26th.
