Collegiate is a perfect 10-0 against St. Anne's-Belfield since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will look to defend their home pitch against the Saints at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Anne's-Belfield will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Collegiate extended their winning streak to 15 on Wednesday. The Cougars' defense stepped up to hand St. Catherine's a 3-0 shutout. Collegiate's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

They hit St. Catherine's with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Logan Lombard, Ryan Lewis, and Ava Babik.

Meanwhile, St. Anne's-Belfield had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They blew past the Titans 5-1. Given St. Anne's-Belfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Trinity Episcopal are ranked 97th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Collegiate's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-0-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 12 contests. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Collegiate took their win against St. Anne's-Belfield in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
