Cocalico couldn't quite beat Garden Spot on Wednesday but the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the seven-point loss they were dealt last Monday. The Cocalico Eagles fell just short of the Garden Spot Spartans by a score of 5-3. Cocalico just can't catch a break and has now endured seven defeats in a row.

Jarrett Weaver was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Weaver has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Weaver was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
