Soccer Game Preview: Lakeland vs. New Kent

The Lakeland Cavaliers will head out to square off against the New Kent Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeland will be strutting in after a victory while New Kent will be coming in after a loss.

Lakeland's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Green Run. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Lakeland as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, New Kent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mechanicsville.

New Kent's loss dropped their record down to 8-6-3. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 4-11-1.

Lakeland suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to New Kent when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
