Basketball Game Preview: Leake Academy Rebels vs. Simpson Academy Cougars

Leake Academy and Simpson Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Rebels will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Leake Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

On Tuesday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Leake Academy made off with a 62-61 win over Tupelo.

Leake Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addie Crowe out in front who went 6-for-13 on her way to 16 points and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Crowe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sarah Prince, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists.

Leake Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are a perfect 7-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Simpson Academy faced off against Louisville on Monday. The Cougars secured a 74-70 W over the Wildcats.

Simpson Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Leake Academy, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-2.

Leake Academy beat Simpson Academy 43-32 in their previous meeting back in January. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
