Baseball Game Preview: Hannan Wildcats vs. Buffalo Bison

Hannan is 0-6 against Buffalo since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Bison at 6:00 p.m.

Hannan is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season last Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Teays Valley Christian.

Hayden Taylor was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. Ian Chaffin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Buffalo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Poca a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bison yet this season.

Evan Panaro made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matchups.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caiden Craig, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luca Signorini, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Buffalo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hannan's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Buffalo, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-7.

Hannan suffered a grim 17-4 defeat to Buffalo in their previous meeting back in May of 2021. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
