There's no place like home for Riverdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Blackman Blaze on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Warriors have posted against the Blaze since April 5, 2022.

Lauren Brewer spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bella Waldrop, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles. Payton Hurst was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Riverdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blackman only posted an OBP of .280.

Riverdale's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Blackman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Riverdale will host Warren County at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Blackman, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cascade at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
