Softball Recap: Eisenhower Comes Up Short

Eisenhower dropped their record down to 5-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 19-6 to the Wenatchee Panthers. The Cadets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 14-13.

Nicole Salmanca was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Zoe Niblett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Wenatchee, the win got them back to even at 8-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Wenatchee's side, Makinley Cardona was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Cardona a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Autumn Sutherland, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eisenhower will face off against rival West Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wenatchee is set to challenge their familiar foe Davis at 4:00 p.m. on May 1.
