Softball Recap: Wakeland Snags 11th Win in Last 13 Games

There's no place like home for Wakeland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let the Turner Lions get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 17 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Jordan Mcnees looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maggie Drake, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Faris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wakeland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in seven consecutive contests.

Wakeland is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Turner, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Wakeland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-3 win against Lebanon Trail on the 25th. Turner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
