Softball Recap: Nooksack Valley's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Nooksack Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Cle Elum-Roslyn Warriors 15-5 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Shelby Mason was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Makenzie Likkel was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Nooksack Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was the third in a row for Nooksack Valley, bringing their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cle Elum-Roslyn, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Nooksack Valley has already played their next game, an 8-4 victory against Hoquiam on the 19th. As for Cle Elum-Roslyn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-3 win against White Swan on the 19th.
