Baseball Recap: Wetumka Triumphs

Turpin typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Wetumka proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chieftains have posted since April 18, 2024.

Wetumka is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Turpin, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-7.

Wetumka has already played their next contest, a 21-0 loss against Navajo on the 2nd. Turpin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
