Baseball Recap: San Diego Comes Up Short

San Diego had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-20-1 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Clairemont Chieftains by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-8 defeat on Tuesday.

As for Clairemont, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Clairemont's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Weiss, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As of now, neither San Diego nor the Chieftains have any future games scheduled.
