Baseball Recap: Bonita Vista Victorious

Bonita Vista won the last time they faced Del Norte and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bonita Vista Barons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Del Norte Nighthawks, sneaking past 7-6.

NICO CHAVEZ looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on LEO CUBILLAS, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of ANTONIO OROZCO, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Bonita Vista's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonita Vista will head out to face off against Rancho Buena Vista at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Del Norte, they will venture away from home to challenge Eastlake at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Del Norte has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
