Softball Recap: McNeil Mavericks vs. Manor Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Round Rock Westwood, McNeil was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Manor Mustangs. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Nevaeh Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Evie Guerra and Elizabeth Martir did most of the damage at the plate: Guerra went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Martir went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two runs gave Guerra a new career-high. Sydne Jackson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
McNeil picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-14. As for Manor, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.
As of now, neither McNeil nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
