Basketball Game Preview: Tomahawk Hatchets vs. Mosinee Indians

Tomahawk hasn't had much luck against Mosinee recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tomahawk Hatchets will be playing at home against the Mosinee Indians at 7:15 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-16, which was the final score in Tomahawk's tilt against Lakeland on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Hatchets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mosinee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Northland Pines 62-28 on Tuesday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Eagles are ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mosinee has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Tomahawk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Tomahawk took a serious blow against Mosinee in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 70-26. Can Tomahawk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
