Football Game Preview: Oakdale Mustangs vs. Manteca Buffaloes + How To Watch

Oakdale hasn't had much luck against Manteca recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs will welcome the Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Manteca will be up against a hot Oakdale team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. The Mustangs blew past Sierra, posting a 69-15 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mustangs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 676th).

Oakdale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Caden Adams, Peyton Wallace, and Wes Burford picked up one apiece. Burford's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 22nd straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Oakdale, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Richard Flores, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Manteca over Patterson in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Buffaloes blew the Tigers out of the water with a 43-7 final score. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Oakdale's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Manteca, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Oakdale came up short against Manteca when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 36-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Buffaloes' Nikko Juarez, who rushed for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that the Mustangs know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
