West Vigo is 7-1 against Riverton Parke since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. West Vigo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Riverton Parke's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Vigo is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs last Wednesday, they were much more limited against Northview on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. The Vikings have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Riverton Parke nor South Vermillion made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Panthers never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jonah Hopkins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Hopkins was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Hopkins wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Belcher, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Riverton Parke's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for West Vigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

West Vigo beat Riverton Parke 6-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
