Baseball Recap: Springstead's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Central last Tuesday, Springstead came back down to earth. The Springstead Eagles lost 8-1 to the River Ridge Royal Knights on Thursday. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Springstead got a good showing from Himanchall Persaud, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Springstead saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Billy Ward, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Springstead moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for River Ridge, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.
