Baseball Recap: Pollok Central Takes a Loss

Pollok Central blew Newton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Newton got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since February 17th.

Pollok Central dropped their record down to 3-13-1 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Newton, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.

Pollok Central and Newton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bulldogs will challenge Diboll at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (893 vs. 211). Meanwhile, Newton (ranked 1170th) will meet Central Heights (ranked 98th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
