Soccer Game Preview: Waller vs. Cypress Park

The Waller Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Cypress Park Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses for Waller and six for Cypress Park.

Waller is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Cypress Springs on Wednesday. Waller fell just short of Cypress Springs by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cypress Park faced off against Cypress Woods on Wednesday. Cypress Park came up short against Cypress Woods, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Wildcats are ranked 106th).

Waller's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cypress Park, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Waller took their victory against Cypress Park when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waller since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
