Football Recap: Santa Rosa's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Santa Rosa dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 28-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the George West Longhorns. The Warriors lost against the Longhorns in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 44-16 score last time.

Riley Fonseca threw for 67 yards and one touchdown. George Prado was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and one score.

As for George West, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.9 points on average over those games.

Kohen Blount produced another solid performance rushing for 172 yards and three TDs. Blount is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 114 every time he's taken the field this season.
