Basketball Game Preview: Immanuel Eagles vs. Selma Bears

Immanuel hasn't had much luck against Selma recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Immanuel Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Selma Bears at 6:30 p.m. Immanuel will be strutting in after a victory while Selma will be coming in after a defeat.

Immanuel took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sierra Pacific by a score of 64-54.

Meanwhile, Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to Central Valley Christian on the road by a 63-46 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 914th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 399th).

Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Immanuel, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-15.

Things could have been worse for Immanuel, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-46 loss to Selma in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Immanuel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
