Baseball Game Preview: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. Harding University Rams

The Central Cabarrus Vikings will head out to square off against the Harding University Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Central Cabarrus has five straight wins, Harding University has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Central Cabarrus' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against West Cabarrus by a score of 3-0.

Tellis Bumgarner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Central Cabarrus saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Roseboro, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Connor Dowd was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Harding University came up short against Hickory Ridge on Friday, falling 17-2. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Harding University's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Central Cabarrus, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
