Basketball Recap: Cahokia Comes Up Short

Cahokia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Marion Wildcats, falling 73-8. While losing is never fun, the Comanches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Wildcats are ranked 47th).

Cahokia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Marion, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cahokia won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cahokia is facing Jacksonville at the right time seeing as Jacksonville is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Marion, they will venture away from home to challenge Harrisburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
