Basketball Game Preview: Marty Indian Braves vs. Avon Pirates

Marty Indian is 8-2 against Avon since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Marty Indian Braves will head out on the road to take on the Avon Pirates at 6:15 p.m. Marty Indian will be strutting in after a win while Avon will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Marty Indian turned things around against Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Friday. They managed a 61-56 victory over the Nighthawks.

Meanwhile, Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Andes Central/Dakota Christian.

Marty Indian's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Marty Indian was able to grind out a solid victory over Avon in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 76-66. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marty Indian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
