Recap: Lockney Longhorns vs. Floydada Whirlwinds
The Lockney Longhorns lost against the Floydada Whirlwinds back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lockney was beaten by Floydada 91-45. Lockney has not had much luck with Floydada recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Hagen Hinsley was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Braun Hobbs, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.
Lockney has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Floydada, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Lockney will be playing at home against Ralls at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ralls is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Floydada, they will head out on the road to face off against Smyer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Smyer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1520th, while Floydada is ranked 264th).
