Football Recap: Muhlenberg County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Muhlenberg County extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-3. They took a blow against the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons, falling 56-12. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Maroons are ranked 11th).

Klay Wilken threw for 75 yards and one TD. Hunter Dennel was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards and one score.

As for Madisonville-North Hopkins, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average over those games.

Markezz Hightower produced another solid effort rushing for 203 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 45 receiving yards. Jeremyah Sharp was in the mix too, providing Madisonville-North Hopkins with two scores.

Coming up, after each having a week off, Muhlenberg County and Owensboro will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Red Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Madisonville-North Hopkins, they will host Apollo at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
