Football Recap: Falls City Comes Up Short

Falls City fell victim to Poth and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Pirates 53-0. The Beavers have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Major Luna was nothing short of spectacular for Poth: he threw for 285 yards and five TDs while completing 82.4% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave Luna a new career-high. Poth's leading receiver Antonio DeHoyos was Luna's top target yet again, picking up 107 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Falls City's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Poth, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls City will head out to square off against Stockdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Poth, they will venture away from home to face off against Shiner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
