Basketball Recap: Airport Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Airport had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Midland Valley Mustangs as they made off with a 46-23 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Angel Mayes, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ijazanae Jackson, who earned seven points and seven steals.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zekenya Eberhart, who put up nine points.

Airport pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Midland Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Airport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-35 loss against Gray Collegiate Academy on the 4th. As for Midland Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-44 victory against Gilbert on the 4th.
