Baseball Recap: Francis Parker Takes a Loss

Francis Parker extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-12-1 in the process. They fell 11-7 to the Santa Fe Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-3 loss on Wednesday.

Spencer Perry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Francis Parker's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-11-1 when he doesn't). Myron Wells also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

As for Santa Fe Christian, they now have a winning record of 11-10. The win was familiar territory for they, who have now won three matches in a row.

On Santa Fe Christian's side, Elijah Joseph and Kyle Plasman did most of the damage at the plate: Joseph went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Plasman went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave Joseph a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Joseph, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Francis Parker will challenge Kearny at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Fe Christian, they will face off against Maranatha Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Santa Fe Christian has won four straight at home, while Maranatha Christian won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
