Volleyball Preview: Truckee Wolverines vs. Elko Indians

Truckee is 8-2 against Elko since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wolverines will look to defend their home court against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Truckee's favor as the squad sits on 15 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Elko has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Truckee won the last time they faced Wooster and Zoe Jackson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday for which the team can thank Jackson, who had 16 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Truckee was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Elko lost 3-0 to Churchill County on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Greenwave since October 26, 2022.

Elko's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Truckee, their win bumped their record up to 23-6.

Truckee was able to grind out a solid victory over Elko in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
