Recap: Jasper Vikings vs. Good Hope Raiders
The Jasper Vikings pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 63-56 to Good Hope.
Jasper's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Missy Odom, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 10 rebounds. Odom scored a full 42.9% of Jasper's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marianna Rigsby, who scored 12 points.
Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Good Hope, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Jasper will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hazel Green at 6:00 p.m. Hazel Green's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Jasper's offense will have their work cut out for Jasper. As for Good Hope, they will head out on the road to face off against Holly Pond at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Holly Pond will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Good Hope is ranked 13th).
