Soccer Game Preview: Oakridge vs. Greenhill

The Oakridge Owls will challenge the Greenhill Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakridge's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Oakridge fell victim to Hockaday and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Daisies, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Daisies are ranked 98th).

Meanwhile, Greenhill sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Fort Worth Country Day on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Greenhill is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four games. As for Oakridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Oakridge might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Greenhill when the teams last played back in January of 2016. Can Oakridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
