Basketball Recap: Northwest Halifax Collegiate & Technical Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Northwest Halifax Collegiate & Technical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 54-22 loss at the hands of the Louisburg Warriors. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Despite the loss, Northwest Halifax Collegiate & Technical Academy still got an impressive performance from Keyara Rook, who posted 17 points and seven steals.

Louisburg was led to victory by Tamela Person and Braelyn Walker. Person went 9-for-19 to rack up 18 points and seven boards, while Walker had 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Person is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tamiya Mayo, who earned seven points and three steals.

Northwest Halifax Collegiate & Technical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Louisburg, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Northwest Halifax Collegiate & Technical Academy and Sallie B. Howard will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Louisburg will take on Beddingfield in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
