It's playoff time, and East Lake had no trouble coming through when it counted. They slipped by the Sickles Gryphons 54-53 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Gryphons last Friday, they had to take a 75-64 loss.

Greg Samuels had a dynamite game for East Lake, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance also gave Samuels a new career-high in assists (seven). Jeremiah Cooper was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Despite the loss, Sickles still got an impressive performance from Ian Kyler, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Chase Weismiller, who posted 11 points and six boards.

East Lake has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Sickles, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9.

Coming up, East Lake will take on Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Charlotte's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. Sickles does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
