Preview: Albany Lions vs. Roscoe Plowboys
Albany is 5-0 against Roscoe since September of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Albany Lions will be playing at home against the Roscoe Plowboys at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Albany sitting on 18 straight wins dating back to last season and Roscoe on three.
Last Thursday, Albany got themselves on the board against Cross Plains, but Cross Plains never followed suit. They breezed by the Buffaloes on the road to the tune of 49-0. The result was nothing new for Albany, who have now won four contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Adam Hill was his usual excellent self, rushing for 90 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Chapman, who rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Meanwhile, Roscoe got themselves on the board against Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene on Friday, but Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene never followed suit. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 57-0 victory over the Eagles. 57 seems to be a good number for Roscoe as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Albany's victory was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. They've been dominating across those matches too: they took their wins by an average of 29 points. Roscoe has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven games, giving them a 6-1 record.
Everything came up roses for Albany against Roscoe in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 55-0 win. Does Albany have another victory up their sleeve, or will Roscoe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
