Sachse is 8-2 against Naaman Forest since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will welcome the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Sachse will be strutting in after a win while Naaman Forest will be coming in after a loss.
Sachse is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to South Garland for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-7 victory. With the Mustangs ahead 38-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Sachse's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Hill, who rushed for 61 yards and two TDs. Those 61 rushing yards gave Hill a new career-high. Roderick Rainwater was another key player, gaining 121 total yards and a touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Sachse, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Marcus Rhoden, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from Connor Nash.
Meanwhile, Naaman Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 22-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Garland. Despite 133 more yards than the Raiders, the Rangers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Sachse will need to focus on slowing down Brody Perales, one of several Naaman Forest players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 178 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathan Frenchlove, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one score.
Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Perales for the heroic effort on defense: he. This was only their first loss (out of four games) when they shut down the run game so well.
Sachse is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.8 points over those games. As for Naaman Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Sachse took their win against Naaman Forest in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 30-7 score. In that game, the Mustangs amassed a halftime lead of 24-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
