Centaurus (Lafayette, Colo.), 28-14.
After taking the lead on a
Joe Lopez touchdown run in the second quarter, the Warriors led 15-6 at the half.
Frederick expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. FHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Xavier Lindburg.
The Warriors went into the matchup giving up only 17.6 points per game. The 14 points that the Warriors ended with were right around their average of 12.2 coming into the game.
When the two teams played each other last season, Frederick came away with a 35-7 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Centaurus, which notched a 40-8 victory over Denver North in its previous outing. With the win FHS extended its winning streak to four games.
Centaurus (1-5) will play a 3A Northern game against Thomas Jefferson next week, while Frederick (4-2) will take on Holy Family also in a 3A Northern game.
