Volleyball Recap: Navarre Raiders vs. Crestview Bulldogs
Navarre had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Crestview Bulldogs on Monday. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.
Navarre had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 12-25, 25-8, 25-14, 32-30.
Navarre had a senior duo take command as Addison Danforth had 14 digs and Isabella Aloy had four digs and 14 assists. Danforth is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
When it comes to explaining why Crestview lost, don't look at Kelsey Griffin. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Camille Reeves, who had three digs and two aces.
Navarre pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Crestview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
Navarre will square off against Niceville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niceville will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Navarre surely won't give up without a fight. Crestview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
