Basketball Game Preview: Oakland-Craig Knights vs. Pender Pendragons

The Oakland-Craig Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Pender Pendragons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Oakland-Craig didn't have too much trouble with Clarkson/Leigh as they won 43-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Oakland-Craig's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Briar Ray, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the most rebounds Ray has posted since back in December of 2023. Hilary Ray was another key player, going 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Pender put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lutheran-Northeast 71-16. With the Pendragons ahead 41-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Pender pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Oakland-Craig, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Oakland-Craig couldn't quite finish off Pender in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 51-49. Can Oakland-Craig avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
