League recap: Dixon races to league-leading run for Harrells Christian Academy

NCISAA Big East recap November 13, 2013

Harrells Christian Academy's Sammy Dixon rumbled for the longest rushing play in NCISAA Big East this season in his game against Wake Christian Academy last week. Dixon ran for 88 yards on the play and finished with 184 on the day as his team topped the Bulldogs.

Wake Christian Academy fell to Harrells Christian Academy 48-27 last week, the largest margin of any game. Beau Barger was a bright spot for Stephen Cochran's team, as he threw for 140 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 114 yards in the defeat.

The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Barger and Adam Jones proved to be unstoppable against Brian Aldridge's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. John Pompliano helped Wake Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 27 yards.

Zach Batts made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Crusaders bested Wake Christian Academy. The 5-foot-7 senior grabbed 1 interception and grabbed 0 sack.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's Richard Landis and Daniel Rose led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Landis has thrown for 1,883 yards this season, while Rose has 79 catches for 1,041 yards. Kelly Nelms from Harrells Christian Academy leads the league in rushing with 1,223 yards.

The Crusaders led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Bulldogs. Dixon ran for 184 yards during the win.
